Dr.-Ing. Detlev Markus is currently serving as Head of Division “Chemical Physics and Explosion Protection” at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), Germany, since 2024 . He holds a doctorate in engineering from the University of Stuttgart and has extensive expertise in combustion science, flame transmission, and explosion safety. Over his career, he has led multiple research groups and departments at PTB, focusing on energy technology and safety. He has also contributed significantly to the field through numerous high-impact publications on ignition processes, hydrogen safety, and combustion modeling.
Research and development of the temperature and humidity measurement standards in Thailand, as well as collaborate with other NMIs in Asia Pacific Region for the international system of measurement. Applying measurement sciences to develop metrology solution to address challenges in sustainable energy.
